Summer Time "BEHIND" The Scenes

Well, the weather is beautiful today and we had a blast playing with the hose outside and eating otter pops. I love taking pictures with my new camera! (Thanks Scott) Check out Kate on the scooter. Pretty Cute!

Terry & Ashlee at the Middle of the Earth! This is a museum called Inti-Nan. Inti means sun and nan means earth. We are at the entrance.--->

Can you wait to see our adventures?
The thumb was the most important part of the body to the Indians that lived here. They believed that if you stand on the Equator with your arms out and thumbs up you would soak in the energy of the sun. We thought we´d give it a try.

Teresa is a Social Worker for OSSO. She came one day before us and was happy to take us around. She speaks Spanish and knows her way around a bit. We felt much safer with her. She is in the picture with Ashlee.

This is a REAL clock. The sundial clock is used on one side half of the year and the other side for the other. Our clocks are slightly different because there is really only 23 hours, 56 minutes, and some odd seconds in the day. That is why we have leap year.

If you notice the 3 signs on the clock, one is for morning, one for midday, and one for evening. On the Equinox days the shadow will show on both sides of the clock because the sun is exactly between the two hemishperes.

This boy was a good little weaver. He also knew how to sell, just like the rest of the kids here.
